Compass Box Artist Blend (70cl, 43%)

Artist Blend is a blended Scotch whisky from Compass Box, created as a tribute to Edinburgh and first released in 2011. Around 55% of the recipe is malt whisky, with Lowland grain whisky added. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill-filtering. Most of the whisky comes from first-fill bourbon casks, joined by parts from a medium-toast French oak cask and a butt that previously held Palo Cortado sherry. John Glaser is the whiskymaker responsible for this bottling. The nose has apple blossom, baked apple, vanilla, pastry and raisins, with cinnamon and citrus peel. The palate is soft and creamy, with malt, orange peel and brown sugar. The finish brings oat biscuit, apple, orange and raisins, with a light sherry note.
