Nectarosity is a blended Scotch from Compass Box, first released in 2024 and created by lead whiskymaker James Saxon. It combines 64.3% malt whisky with 35.7% grain whisky.
Specially made new American oak casks first shape a grain whisky, which then finishes its maturation elsewhere, before the same casks are used for malt. First-fill bourbon barrels, a first-fill Palo Cortado sherry butt and a refill sherry puncheon complete the cask mix. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
Honey, poached pear, nectarine and lychee lead the nose. Apricot, pineapple, toffee and butterscotch follow on the palate, and the finish holds cinnamon bun.
