Compass Box Vellichor Limited Edition (70cl)

Compass Box Vellichor is a limited edition blended Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle. Its name is a new word for the aromatic atmosphere inside second-hand bookshops, and the blend was built to capture that fragrance from mature whiskies and parcels of blends aged for many years in ex-sherry butts. The components are Highland Park at 38.9% from a recharred hogshead, a blended malt parcel at 29.3% from a refill sherry butt, Macallan at 12.1% from a first fill bourbon barrel, Caol Ila at 4.1% from a refill hogshead, and a blended Scotch parcel from a refill sherry butt. The nose has leather, polished furniture and the dustiness of old pages. The palate is malty, with tropical fruit, sherry character and a delicate but persistent peatiness.
