This Aultmore was distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2012 by Gordon & MacPhail as part of its Connoisseurs Choice range. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV.
The nose is herbal with ripe fruit, sweet malt, dried apricots, raisins, apples and pears, with light honeysuckle, a touch of lemon, toasted oak, caramel and vanilla. The body is medium, clean and slightly oily, opening with red apples, pears and ripe banana before moving to sweet cereal, like graham crackers, with festive spice and oiled wood.
The finish is medium to long, with malt sweetness, chewy toffee and a dry, spiced oak close.
