This is a 12 year old Benrinnes single malt from 2011, bottled by the independent bottler The Vintage Malt Whisky Ltd Co as part of its Cooper's Choice series. It is a single cask release of 330 bottles at a cask strength of 51.5%, with no chill filtering and no added colour.
The whisky matured first in American oak, then received a finish in a Martinique rum cask.
The nose is fresh and lively with a touch of pineapple and pear. The palate is deep and complex, with a spicy note, malted barley, sweet vanilla, tropical fruit and a light touch of oak. The finish is medium in length, with clear fruit and a savoury spiciness.
