A 1997 vintage Craigellachie single malt, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range. It was matured in refill American hogshead and refill bourbon barrels until 2014, when it was bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is led by ripe kiwi, with watermelon, mango, coconut, barley malt and milk chocolate behind. The palate is powerful and slightly spicy, with pepperoni, chilli, very dark chocolate, cocoa butter and Cuban cigars. The finish is long and spicy, with oak, nutmeg and coffee beans.
