Crown Royal Wine Barrel Finished is the second release in the Noble Collection, a series of limited annual releases that celebrates the work of master blender Andrew MacKay. It first appeared in spring 2017.
The base is Crown Royal Fine De Luxe blended Canadian whisky, distilled at Gimli Distillery in Manitoba. It was then finished for six months in medium toast American oak Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from Paso Robles, California. It is bottled at 40.5% ABV (81 proof) in a 75cl footed crystal style decanter.
The nose is butterscotch and heavy fruit with black currant, clove and dried blueberry. The palate runs from caramel to red grape, prune and plum. The finish is spicy and lingering, with oak, anise and clove.
Tasting Notes

Caramel and butterscotch, red grape, dark berry and prune, building through plum, raisin and vanilla cream
