This is a rye whiskey from Dad's Hat, finished in port wine barrels. It is one of the brand's double finish ryes.
After its main maturation, the rye spent a further three months in separate barrels that had previously held port, a wine made from red grapes and known for a fruity, gentle sweetness.
The aim is a rich port flavour set against the spice of the rye.
