This is a 15-year-old single malt from Daftmill, in a 70cl bottle at 56.3% ABV. The spirit is made from Publican barley grown on the distillery's own family farm in Fife, and it was matured in seventeen first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. The strength is the distillery's traditional Fife Strength.
The nose is meringue, cinnamon, tinned pear and brown sugar, with butterscotch, green apple and fresh orange zest. On the palate come lemon zest and lemon curd, vanilla cream and buttery pastry, followed by soft caramel, sweet malt and a delicate grassy note. The finish is long and balanced, with citrus oils, flax seed, oak spice and a little vanilla sweetness.
