This is the 2023 limited edition annual release of Dalmore 21 Year Old, a Highland single malt in the distillery's Principal Collection. It is bottled at 43.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is first matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then given an extended finish in hand selected 30 year old Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks from González Byass.
The nose brings bitter dark chocolate, overripe Seville oranges, Colombian coffee and toffee apple. On the palate come sweet liquorice, Black Forest fruits, roasted walnuts and thick marzipan, and the finish offers ginseng, pear tarte tatin and blood oranges.
