Viking Blod is a traditional Danish mead from Dansk Mjød, blended with dried hibiscus and sold in a 750ml bottle. It follows a recipe dating to around 1700.
The hibiscus gives the mead a striking reddish colour and a floral character.
It is sweet and floral, with hibiscus to the fore, and leaves an aromatic aftertaste reminiscent of fine Madeira.
