David Nicholson Reserve is a high-rye Kentucky straight bourbon produced by Lux Row Distillers, bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
It is aged in charred American oak barrels and bottled at full proof, which lets the rye spice and barrel character come through without dilution.
The nose is led by vanilla and honey, with toasted oak and a thread of light smoke. The palate opens sweet with honey and a touch of chocolate, turns woody and smoky at the middle, then builds rye spice alongside oak tannins. The finish is toasty and long, with lingering oak and mild baking spice.
