Daviess County Straight Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon made by Lux Row Distillers and bottled at 48% ABV (96 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
It marries two bourbons: one from a mash of 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley, the other a wheated mash of 68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley. The rye adds spice and structure, the wheat softness and body.
Peanut brittle leads the nose, with oak, cocoa, vanilla and dried fruit. The palate carries more peanut brittle, salted caramel, baking spice, honey and late apricot. The finish is long and warm, with lingering spice and firm oak tannins.
