This is a blended malt from The New Zealand Whisky Company that brings together two countries: double-wood whisky from Dunedin, New Zealand, married with single malt from Tasmania. Its casks include American oak and a finish in New Zealand wine casks made from French oak.
The edition commemorates the women and men of Australia and New Zealand who served their country in war, and the back label carries the dedication 'Spirit of the ANZACs'. It is bottled in New Zealand at 45% in a 50cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The nose offers soaked raisins, honey and berry jam, with spice, caramel and a touch of leather. The palate is soft and creamy, with apricots, figs, dark chocolate and cane sugar. The finish eases, with wine notes, malty sweetness, tannins and spicy oak.
