Dingle Grianstad an Gheimhridh Single Malt Tawny Port - Wheel of the Year Series (70cl, 50.5%)

Grianstad an Gheimhridh is the fifth edition of Dingle's Wheel of the Year series and the distillery's take on the winter solstice. The name roughly means the standing still of the sun. This triple-distilled Irish single malt is a limited bottling at 50.5% ABV, without chill-filtering or added colour. It matured first in Bourbon casks and was then finished in Tawny Port casks. The nose brings blackcurrant jelly and pomegranate with cinnamon toast and warm ginger. On the palate, red berries and dark chocolate meet warm clove and soft fudge. In the finish the spice eases, leaving a lasting sweetness on the tip of the tongue.
