Dingle Lá le Bríde is a triple-distilled Irish single malt, bottled at 50.5% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in first-fill bourbon barrels and then had an extended finish in former rye whiskey casks. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
It is the second edition of the Wheel of the Year series, which draws on the festivals of the Celtic calendar. This one is dedicated to the Irish spring festival also known as Imbolg, and the cross on the bottle refers to St Brigid, whose day falls on 1 February. The release comprises 10,000 bottles.
The nose combines honey, crushed raspberries, cream-filled and chocolate biscuits and butterscotch. Pronounced spice leads the palate, with herbs, chewy caramel, candied ginger and chopped mint. The finish begins with melting toffee before spicy fruit appears.
