Dornoch – 3 Year Old 2017/2020 Thompson Bros Cask No. 001 (50cl, 59.4%)

This Dornoch 3 Year Old was the first whisky released by Phil and Simon Thompson, who chose the cask that began the story of Dornoch Distillery: cask number 001. It marks the step from their shared idea to the first release from their own distillery. The whisky was distilled on 7 May 2017 and matured in a first-fill ex-Oloroso butt until bottling in November 2020. It is bottled at a cask strength of 59.4% in a 50cl bottle, and 893 bottles were filled. A large share went to early crowdfunding supporters who had helped build the distillery, with smaller amounts for international importers and selected UK retailers.
