Rock Island Sherry Edition is a blended malt from Douglas Laing, made by marrying single cask single malts distilled on Islay, Arran, Jura and Orkney. All of it was matured in Spanish sherry casks.
It is bottled at 46.8% in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill-filtration.
The nose is warm and earthy, developing towards smoked streaky bacon and peated barley. The palate has warming spices, buttered toast and cured meats over an underlying sweetness, and the finish lingers with damp soil, mocha, brown sugar and allspice.
