This is a 55 year old single cask Speyside single malt, selected and bottled by Douglas Laing & Co. for its 75th Anniversary Diamond Collection. The whisky was distilled in November 1967 and bottled in July 2023, with 310 bottles drawn from a single Sherry butt.
It is bottled at natural cask strength, without added colouring or chill filtration.
A bold Sherry influence leads the nose, with treacle and allspice. The palate is rich and mouth-coating, with cocoa, juicy plums, cinnamon and spiced oak. The finish is long, with malt sweetness, autumn fruits and a bright touch of Seville orange.
