Dufftown – 1975/2023 Exceptional Cask #10430 (Berry Bros & Rudd) (70cl, 40.1%)

This Dufftown is a Speyside single malt from the Exceptional Casks series, distilled in 1975 and bottled in 2023 by Berry Bros. & Rudd from a single hogshead, number 10430. It is bottled at 40.1% in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill-filtration, and the release comprises 192 bottles. It formed part of the third selection of 2023 from Berry Bros. & Rudd, a Speyside-focused autumn release. The nose brings buttered toast, rosewater and meadow flowers. On the palate, fruity chews unfold alongside sandalwood, argan oil and smoked pineapple, with warm cherry arriving towards the back. The long finish leaves subtle spice and orange peel.
