Edradour – 10 Year Old Vintage 2016 Small Batch Matured in Sauternes Casks (46%)

This is a ten-year-old Highland single malt from Edradour, a small batch release from the 2016 vintage. It was distilled in February 2016 and matured for the full ten years in first-fill Sauternes hogsheads, casks that previously held sweet wine from Bordeaux. It is bottled at 46%, unfiltered and without added colouring, and has a pale golden colour. The nose is intensely honeyed, with ripe stone fruit and fine floral notes. The palate is creamy, with fruity jam and sweet apricot, and the finish is long, sweet and fruity, rounded off by mild wood spice.
