Edradour – 1993/2023 30 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 56%)

A single cask Edradour from the Highlands, distilled on 17 August 1993 and bottled on 1 September 2023 from cask 302 after thirty years in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt. It is bottled at its natural cask strength of 56% in a 70cl Ibisco decanter, presented in a wooden box, from an outturn of 562 bottles. It is neither coloured nor chill-filtered. The nose is dense and creamy, with dried figs, dry sherry, lightly burnt toast and earthy autumn woodland. On the palate come toasted grain, rye bread, fig bread and dried mushrooms, with savoury notes of black pudding and blue cheese. The finish is very long, with the grain, bread and mushroom notes fading slowly.
