Edradour – 1999/2020 21 Year Old Barolo Cask Finish (70cl, 54.8%)

This Edradour was distilled on 9 August 1999 and bottled on 21 November 2020, at 21 years old. It spent about 13 years in ex-bourbon casks, then a further 88 months in two ex-Barolo hogsheads, an unusually long red wine maturation. Only 580 bottles were filled, at a cask strength of 54.8%, without added colour and non-chill-filtered. The nose has sweet oranges, red fruits and a hint of liqueur. The palate is silky and full, with smoked oranges, red fruits and caramel. The finish is long, fruity and pleasantly dry, with fine smoke.
