This is an 18 year old Edradour from Whisky Sponge, Edition No.31, distilled in 2003 and bottled at 53% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a very old refill hogshead that had previously held an older Signatory bottling. The strength was chosen to bring out the character of modern Edradour distillate, which is described as funky, fruity, sharp, malty, waxy and mineral. The nose is old-school Highland malt: barley eau de vie with lemon water, hay, soot and boot polish. The palate is rich and mouth-filling, with malt extract, barley sugars, olive oil and oatcakes.

Tasting Notes

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
