A 10-year-old Edradour single malt from the Highlands, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2022 by Signatory from a single first-fill bourbon barrel at 59.4%.
Edradour is best known for dark, intense sherry cask bottlings, and this one shows that first-fill bourbon wood suits the distillery just as well. A malty bitterness sits at the centre, with herbaceous, floral and fruity aromas and a fresh, lively distillate.
Freshly cut grass, aniseed, cypress and white flowers lead the nose, with lemon and grapefruit behind. The palate is peppery, with eucalyptus, white mint and pine resin, and the long finish brings pear, greengage plum and liquorice.
