This is a 13-year-old single malt from the Ballechin series, the heavily peated whisky made at Edradour in the Highlands. Batch 1 of the cask strength edition is bottled at its natural strength of 54.9% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks.
The nose is of bonfire oak, gooseberries, plums and heather honey. Smoke takes over the palate, alongside orange zest, bitter chocolate, dried fruits and wood spice.
