Eigashima – Shin Serene Blended Japanese Whisky

Shin Serene is a blended Japanese whisky from Eigashima, named after Mr. Hiraishi, the eighth generation of Eigashima Shuzo. It was made by the company's Toji, who is also chief executive of the Eigashima sake brewery. The blend is of whisky aged 3 years in sherry, bourbon and Japanese shochu barrels, and it draws on Eigashima's blending experience and sake brewing tradition. The nose shows orange peel, honey, pepper and spice. The palate is oily, with citrus, vanilla and light honey. The finish recalls peaches and almonds, with honey and a mellow aftertaste.
