Akashi 7 Year Old is a single malt from Eigashima Distillery, a small coastal distillery in Japan. This Bourbon Barrel bottling was matured only in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, and 492 bottles were released for the U.S. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The nose brings marzipan, pecans and peat smoke. On the palate come grilled fig, clove, vanilla cream, cocoa powder and sea salt, with a weighty texture, before a lingering, gently smoky finish.
