Elements of Islay Bourbon Cask Islay Blended Malt (70cl, 54.5%)

Elements of Islay Bourbon Cask is a blended malt of Islay whiskies matured in bourbon barrels, both first-fill and previously used. A malt from the south coast brings strong barbecue-smoke notes, while one from the north coast adds subtler, zesty touches. It belongs to the permanent core range and is bottled at 54.5%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. Sugar and vanilla pods sit beside fresh tropical fruit on the nose, with vanilla and amber recalling scented candles and a little coal smoke. The palate offers cappuccino with chocolate powder, warm brioche with vanilla cream and tart fruit poached in maple syrup, set against firm peat smoke. The finish is sweet, creamy vanilla with a fine note of peat smoke.
