Elements of Islay Cask Edit (70cl, 46%)

Elements of Islay Cask Edit is a blended malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is part of the Elements of Islay trilogy by Oliver Chilton, master blender at Elixir Distillers. The blend brings together rich, smoky single malts from the south coast of Islay with a fresher, fruitier style from the north. Three types of cask go into it: refill, bourbon and sherry. The colour is pale gold. The nose is fresh and smoky, with citrus, iodine and smoked bacon. Baked apples, salted butter caramel and dark chocolate lead the palate, and the finish offers apple pie, gentle spices and tea.
