Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch 10 is the 2016 release of Heaven Hill's cask strength bourbon, made in Bardstown, Kentucky. It is 12 years old, non chill filtered and bottled at 138.8 proof (69.4%). The mashbill is 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley, and the bourbon matured in new charred oak. It came in the tall, slope-shouldered bottle used for Batches 1 to 12.
The nose has dark fruit, toffee, oak and warm baking spice, with a touch of banana and nuttiness. The palate is big and full bodied, with caramel, vanilla, dark cherry, charred oak and a wave of spice. The finish is long and warming, with oak, caramel and lingering spice.
