Elijah Craig Small Batch is a straight bourbon made by Heaven Hill in Bardstown, Kentucky, and named after the Baptist preacher often credited with charring oak barrels. It is bottled at 47% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The mash bill is low in rye, and the whiskey is matured in new American oak with a Level 3 char. A small number of hand-selected barrels are married for each batch.
On the nose there is vanilla bean, orchard fruit and fresh mint. The palate is smooth and warm, with wood spice, gentle smoke and nutmeg. The finish is long and sweet with a lightly toasted edge.
