Emperor's Way Frederick II is a smoky single malt from Hercynian Distilling Co. in the Harz region of Germany. It is bottled at a cask strength of 57.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
The whisky was distilled between 2016 and 2018, matured in Amarone hogsheads and finished in Marsala casks. The 2026 bottling comprises 1,220 bottles.
The nose brings red berries, vanilla, floral notes, wood smoke and dark chocolate. On the palate are Amarone fruit, Marsala sweetness, cocoa, pepper, oak and peat smoke. The finish is dry and spicy, with notes of wine and smoke.
