Enigma Spey.1.A is a 16 year old single malt from an undisclosed Speyside distillery, bottled by Wm Cadenhead in its Enigma series. It was distilled in 2008, finished in Manzanilla casks and bottled in January 2024 at 54.8% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The release numbers 1,494 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose brings red cola, sandalwood, pepper, dunnage floors and a damp cellar. The palate moves to bacon crisps, chorizo, salted caramel popcorn and olives. The finish offers tangerine, mineral notes, beach pebbles, dark chocolate and Turkish delight.
