Old Ezra Barrel Strength is a seven-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon from Ezra Brooks, distilled at Lux Row in Bardstown. It is bottled at 58.5% in a 750ml bottle, without dilution.
The bourbon matured for seven years in new, charred American oak barrels. It is made from corn, rye and malted barley, and is charcoal filtered using the Lincoln County Process.
The nose has caramelised sugar, vanilla bean, toasted oak and baking spices, with dried fruit and leather. The palate is full-bodied, with toffee, dark chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and charred oak, alongside maple syrup and candied orange peel. The finish is long and warming, with spice, oak tannins and dark fruit.
