Ezra Brooks 99 Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon distilled at Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown. It is bottled at 99 proof (49.5%) in a 750ml bottle and aged in new charred American oak barrels. The mash bill is typically 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley, made by the sour mash method. Charcoal filtration takes place after maturation, just before bottling. The brand dates from 1957. The nose is mild, with caramel, vanilla, chocolate and spice. The palate is full-bodied, with caramel, vanilla and pepper, toasted oak, banana and mango. The finish is medium-long and warm, carrying maple syrup, caramel sauce and pepper.
