A charcoal-filtered Kentucky straight bourbon from Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown, bottled at 49.5% (99 proof) in a 750ml bottle. The mashbill is 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley.
After ageing in charred oak barrels, the bourbon is filtered through charcoal, a step more often associated with Tennessee whiskey.
The nose offers vanilla, caramel, baking spice and sweet cornbread, with mint, cherry and nutmeg. The palate is sweet with caramel, vanilla and butterscotch, then cinnamon, peanut brittle, cherry and milk chocolate. The finish is medium, warm and sweet, with caramel, mint and cinnamon.
