Fattoria di Grignano Vin Santo del Chianti Rufina 2018 (37.5cl, 13.5%)

This is a 2018 Vin Santo from the Chianti Rufina subzone of Tuscany, made by Fattoria di Grignano and sold in a 37.5cl half bottle at 13.5% ABV. It is made from 65% Malvasia del Chianti and 35% Trebbiano, grown in certified-organic vineyards. The bunches are dried naturally for about three months, gently pressed, then fermented and aged for five years in small oak caratelli of 50 to 225 litres. Slow oxidation gives the amber colour and flavours of nuts, dried fruit and caramel. It has a bouquet of dried apricot and nuts with balsamic hints, a full-bodied palate and a long finish.
