Fercullen 18 Year Old is an Irish single malt, distilled and then laid down to mature in ex-bourbon American oak barrels under Noel Sweeney, one of Ireland's best-known master distillers. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines honey, vanilla, sweet malt and spice with almonds, cinnamon, ripe fruit, caramel and crisp oak. On the palate it is smooth, with layers of sweet, creamy malt, oak, vanilla and ripe fruit. The finish opens malty, then turns to lasting sweet spice of nutmeg, ending fruity.
