This is an Irish single grain whisky from the Fercullen Estate Series, in a 70cl bottle at 46%. The Mill House opens the three-part series and brings together whiskey distilled in 2010, 2011 and 2012 by Noel Sweeney.
The spirit first matured in first-fill bourbon barrels. After the batches were married, it spent a further 18 months in Italian Amarone casks. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose offers spice, liquorice and vanilla, with honey, lemon, ripe peach, kiwi, cinnamon and oak. The palate is silky and soft, sweet with honey and cinnamon, alongside fruit cocktail and milk chocolate. The finish is long, fruity and velvety, almost juicy, ending dry.
