Fettercairn 22 Year Old is a single malt matured for 22 years in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 47% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery has been widening its range with a run of age statements, and this one leans towards its fruitier side, with mango, apple and cherry alongside vanilla, oak and crushed spices.
The nose brings dried fruit, fresh green apples, buttered teacakes, cedar and a hint of hay. On the palate there are cherry, gingerbread, orange peel, pineapple and mango, then soft earthy spices and more cedar. The finish is long, with fruity coffee and honey.
