Fettercairn – 28 Year Old (70cl, 42%)

A 28 year old Highland single malt from Fettercairn, bottled at 42% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and comes from the range the distillery introduced in 2018. The spirit was distilled through a still whose neck is cooled by a constantly running cascade of water. The nose offers tropical fruits, black treacle and ginger, with sugared peels and black liquorice beneath. On the palate, black pepper and espresso bitterness sit alongside roasted chestnuts, dried apricots, citrus, honeyed raisins and chopped oak. The finish is toffee and lime zest.
