A Highland single malt from Fettercairn, distilled on 23rd December 1977 and bottled at 40 years old at 48.9% abv. It was matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in Apostoles sherry casks. The bottling comes to 818 bottles, each of 70cl.
The nose is sweet, with honey, treacle and molasses, a touch of ginger and rich sherry. On the palate there is liquorice and citrus, balanced by raisins, toffee and Demerara sugar. The fruity finish carries a soft spice.
