Filey Bay 2018 IPA Single Cask (70cl, 52.2%)

This is a single cask whisky from Filey Bay, the Yorkshire brand of the Spirit of Yorkshire distillery, bottled at a cask strength of 52.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and free of colouring, and the cask yielded 210 bottles. The whisky first matured for four years in a first-fill bourbon cask, then for a little under three more in a cask that had held IPA from the Wold Top Brewery. The brewery belongs to the same family business as the distillery. The nose is fresh and fruity, with lemon cake, green apple and ripe mango. The palate brings frangipane, petit beurre biscuits and tropical fruit. The finish is long, refreshing and sweet.
