Filey Bay Double Oak Batch 1 Yorkshire Single Malt (70cl, 46%)

Filey Bay Double Oak Batch 1 is a Yorkshire single malt from the Spirit of Yorkshire distillery, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is a special release limited to 480 bottles for Germany, from a batch of 2000. The whisky spent five years in first-fill American bourbon casks, then nine months in virgin oak. Whisky director Joe checked the casks monthly at first, then weekly as the oak's influence grew. The new oak adds fruity and spicy notes, while the bourbon casks bring vanilla and toffee. On the palate it is fruity and spicy, with cream soda, banana bread, pineapple sweets and toasted oak.
