Filey Bay Port Finish (Batch 1) (70cl, 46%)

Filey Bay Port Finish is an English whisky from the Spirit of Yorkshire distillery, whose barley and spring water come from the Wold Top Farm. The spirit first matured in bourbon barrels from mid-2017, then spent two years from late 2020 in fresh ruby port casks. Ruby port is made with fresher fruit than tawny, which makes this finish lighter in style. Batch 1 is bottled at 46% ABV, in a run of 3,300 bottles. The nose is rich, spicy and fruity, with blackberry jam, dark chocolate and vanilla. On the palate the jammy fruit of the port sits alongside vanilla and light wood spice. The finish is long and elegant.
