Filey Bay Port Finish Batch 1 is a Yorkshire single malt, finished in port casks and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
It is made by Spirit of Yorkshire at Hunmanby, near the Filey Bay coast. The barley and the spring water both come from Wold Top Farm, owned by Tom Mellor, who founded the distillery with David Thompson. Dr Jim Swan advised the two partners. The gannet is the distillery's symbol, standing for fearlessness, precision and grace.
The palate is full, spicy and fruity, with blackberry jam, dark chocolate and vanilla.
