Filey Bay STR Cask Batch 2 is a Yorkshire single malt from the Spirit of Yorkshire distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It matures in first-fill bourbon barrels and is then finished in STR red wine barriques from Rioja.
The distillery stands near the Filey Bay coast, and its barley and spring water come from Wold Top Farm. The late Dr Jim Swan advised on the project.
The nose offers orange chocolate, toasted biscuit, cinnamon spice and lemon zest. On the palate come salted caramel, red fruits, black pepper, dark chocolate and dried oak.
