A Yorkshire Day edition from Filey Bay, the whisky of the Spirit of Yorkshire distillery in Hunmanby, England. It was matured in ex-cream sherry hogsheads and bottled at 46% ABV.
The cask was chosen by Whisky Director Joe Clark, and only 1,500 bottles were released worldwide.
The nose is rich, with apricot jam, fudge, toffee, candied citrus peel and roasted hazelnuts, plus a warm, sweet and spicy sherry note. The palate is creamy with fudge and cinder toffee, ripe apricot and peach, orange zest and soft oak spice. The finish is long and warming, with toffee, dried fruit, hazelnuts and gentle oak spice.
