Fireball Cinnamon Whisky is a cinnamon-flavoured spirit made on a Canadian whisky base, in a one-litre bottle at 33% ABV (66 proof).
The base whisky is distilled in Canada and aged in used American bourbon barrels, then blended with cinnamon flavouring and sweeteners. It is bottled well below the usual 40% for whisky. The Sazerac Company, founded in New Orleans in 1850, oversees production.
The nose is sweet cinnamon with warm ginger and a candy-like sweetness. On the palate the cinnamon comes first, building to a spicy heat like cinnamon sweets, with a little whisky underneath. The finish is of medium length, peppery and warm, with a trace of ginger and dry spice.
